The topic of alcohol consumption is mega controversial here in the South. Especially in some of the denominational Churches but even more so among the Southern Baptists. Conventional wisdom would say that those who proclaim ”non-use” would have a better track record against “mis-use”. Seems that isn’t the case at all. So much for the prudential arguement!
Regardless of your position on […]

Brian McClaren Defines The Gospel?
September 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment
I was reading Tim’s blog over at Challies.com and discovered this review of a recent conference http://michaelkrahn.com/blog/2008/09/21/brian-mclaren-what-is-the-gospel/ where Brian McClaren was asked to define the gospel. Read his response and you may understand why the church has lost any sense of clarity for defining that which Paul the Apostle declared so unashamedly. Transparently absent is the sinfulness of man, the substitutionary death of Christ, the […]

Emerging Church Bites The Dust!
September 20th, 2008 · No Comments
by Url Scaramanga
“The emerging church will disappear.” That is what my informant told me as we shared drinks at our clandestine watering hole. I felt like Luca Brasi being handed a dead fish wrapped in newspaper. The hit had been ordered…the emerging church’s fate had been sealed. In my informant’s mind, the death of […]

I appreciate John Reyes for alerting me to this forthright interview that took place on CNN. Wow! Since Voddie Baucham is a strict complementarian who advocates a completely different view from the two prior posts concerning Governor Palin, I recommend taking the time to listen to his spirited interview. This issue is sure to compel all of us to […]

Al Mohler on Palin and Motherhood
September 7th, 2008 · No Comments
Dr. Mohler is a significant Cultural Apologist. His scholarship and application of biblical principle to contemporary issues is always compelling. While I personally view ”compartmentalization of the faith” an inconsistent reference point, Al Mohler makes an excellent presentation of the conflicting issues in his article “An Unexpected New Motherhood Debate.” The following quote should certainly entice complementarians to read his entire […]

Should Christians Vote for Governor Palin?
September 6th, 2008 · 4 Comments
Many of us are tremendously excited about Govenor Sarah Palin’s entry onto the national political scene. Wow! This lady has common sense values rooted in character based courage and integrity. Somebody Shout! However, media and feminist are furiously seeking to halt her conservative advancement by applying their “critical glue” to the proverbial cracks in the glass ceiling. They are now doing what […]
